Tom Ervin, Walstrom Marine, to be inducted into the MBIA Hall of Fame
Commerce Twp., Mich. – October 7, 2025 – Tom Ervin of Walstrom Marine, Harbor Springs, Mich. will be inducted into the Michigan Boating Industries Association (MBIA) Hall of Fame during the MBIA’s Recreational Boating Educational Conference Awards Dinner on December 4 at the Embassy Suites in Grand Rapids.
“The MBIA Board of Directors voted unanimously that Tom be inducted for contributions far beyond support of the MBIA’s mission, as he has proven through his generosity of time and shared insight to be truly committed to the success of Michigan’s boating industry,” said MBIA Executive Director Nicki Polan.
Ervin, who will be transitioning out of his leadership role at Walstrom Marine later this year, joined the Walstrom organization in 2016 and has more than 20 years of experience managing national organizations. In his tenure, Ervin has guided Walstrom’s remarkable growth, expanding its brand portfolio, services, and geographic reach across Michigan.
“Tom has made such a large impact on our family’s business. He helped transform Walstrom Marine while keeping intact our values and culture of putting our customers first,” said Ward Walstrom Jr., second-generation owner of Walstrom Marine. “I will remember Tom most for his servant leadership. If he’s not grilling hamburgers at an employee luncheon, then he’s out delivering a customer’s boat.”
Ervin served two terms on the MBIA Board of Directors for a total of 6 years of service to the Association. He has served on various Committees including Boat Shows, Legislative, PAC, and Member Services.
