Tiara 43 Sovran Technology Upgrade

Tiara 43 Sovran Technology Upgrade

At Walstrom Marine, some of the most rewarding projects are the ones that bring new life to a well-loved boat. Our service team is currently in the middle of a major systems upgrade on a customer’s 2007 Tiara 43 Sovran, combining mechanical improvements with a completely modernized electronics package.

The project is being led by technician Jim Woodworth, who has been carefully working through a significant Volvo Penta upgrade. The process began with removing the upper gear from the IPS drive in order to install new upper gear sets. This step serves as the foundation for the next phase of the project: installing Volvo’s DPS system along with new Volvo EVC controls. Once complete, the boat will benefit from the latest functionality and control systems Volvo currently offers.

At the same time, the helm is receiving a full electronics refresh. The new navigation package will feature two 12-inch Garmin displays, a new Garmin radar, and autopilot, bringing modern navigation capability to the Tiara.

To properly integrate the new electronics, our team is also fabricating a custom dash designed specifically to house the upgraded system and provide a clean, modern layout at the helm.

Projects like this highlight the depth of expertise within our service department. From complex drivetrain upgrades to custom helm fabrication and electronics integration, the goal is always the same: helping owners get even more life, performance, and enjoyment out of the boats they love.

Stay tuned as the project progresses—we’re looking forward to seeing this Tiara back on the water with a completely refreshed command center.
